This is a list of great software that I regularly use for my picture processing:
Advanced Renamer, available at http://www.advancedrenamer.com/, is a freeware software capable of batch renaming files and also move them to specific folders. The strength of this software is the ability to read the EXIF of images and videos, create folders based, for example, on the date the pictures were taken, and move pictures to those folders. Super fast processing. A huge time saver.
dupeGuru, available for free at http://www.hardcoded.net/dupeguru/, is an advanced duplicate finder. Can basically scan entire folders and find duplicate files.
RED (Remove Empty Directories), available for free at http://www.jonasjohn.de/red.htm. Can find and delete empty folders.
